For families who only need occasional care, we are now offering drop-in hours during the afternoons. Afternoon care goes from 2:00pm-5:00pm and costs $10/hr for families who aren’t already enrolled in the program. We will fill the afternoon spots on a first-come, first-serve basis and can accommodate between one and three children per day.
If you are interested in taking advantage of high quality childcare in an engaging environment, but don’t need full day coverage, consider dropping in at Honalee! Your child will benefit from the same low ratio (one teacher for every three children), healthy organic snacks, and peer interaction that Honalee provides our full day students. New families will need to fill out paperwork before their first day, but there is no enrollment fee and you only pay for the hours you use. In addition to our typical age group (18 months – 5 years), we can provide aftercare for a kindergartner age six or under.

Honalee will be reopening on September 1st!
I want to personally thank everyone for your patient support during my sabbatical, and I can’t wait to continue building the Honalee family this fall.
If you are interested in visiting our program and finding out more about enrollment, I hope you will join us for one of our open houses (July 18th and August 8th, 10:00-2:00) or drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org.
This is Ashley George, director of Honalee Children’s Center. I have made the bittersweet decision to take a personal sabbatical from my work. Our program will temporarily close at the end of the month, with plans to reopen in September 2015.
Thank you to all of the families and teachers who have been part of the Honalee community so far. Your support means more than you know. We have built something beautiful together, and I can’t wait to reconnect in the fall and continue this journey.
Honalee Children’s Center is a family home care program located in the Seabright neighborhood of Santa Cruz. We are proud to be a community of teachers and families working to support children as they explore their world.
